Backstory (The very long version)
This is a very long and detailed backstory of Link, The Hero of Time & Space from Universe 11 when he was still alive. This Link will be a main character in my next series, so he deserves a long backstory.
Link, The Hero of Time & Space comes from a very distant future, where the Multiverse doesn't have 26, but 50 universes. He was born in a peaceful Universe 13, where he was living a perfect life with his wife Zelda. Link was an almighty being comparable to a god, thanks to his ability to travel back and forward in time with no restrictions whatsoever.
He used this ability for every thing possible - from making sure nothing bad happens to his friends to even trying to avoid dropping a cup of water on the carpet.
The only drawback to this ability was, whenever he travelled to the future, the current timeline would "save" and could never be changed again. Trying to change a saved timeline would lead to dangerous unknown side effects.
One day, he went to the future to see one of his favorite TV series sooner, since he didn't want to wait for a few hours. As he was watching his TV, he heard a knock on his door. When he opened them, he saw police officers, who delivered him tragic news of Zelda's death in a plane crash.
Link was shocked as he knew he just went into the future, so the timeline was saved and couldn't be changed. He found out that the incident has happened three hours ago. Despite the timeline being saved, Link still decided to return to the past and stop Zelda from taking the plane.
After preventing her from taking a plane, they both went back home. Zelda the heard the news that the plane she was suppose to take just crashed. As she was about to tell that to Link, who was on the other side of the street, she gets hit by a giant truck that went out of control, killing her on the spot.
Link was shocked to see her die before his very eyes. He once again went back in time and stopped her from crossing the road. The truck didn't lose control this time, but another car suddenly sideslipped and ended up hitting her.
He tried to save his wife's life by going back in time over and over to avoid her deaths, but each time he saved her from one accident, she would end up dying in another way few seconds or hours later...
After 1000+ tries he realised there was no way of changing fate. Each attempt at changing the timeline would result in a horrible side effect, always killing Zelda in the process. He got sick of seeing her die in a painful way over and over and eventually gave up. He decided to end her life in her sleep - the most painless way possible, as opposed to what she would have suffered in every other scenario.
He was devastated and as he was about to tell this to Zelda father The King he couldn't find him anywhere or any of his friends until he learn they all died in a tragic incident when the same exact plane Zelda was suppose to take crashed into the building where they were having a party, he tried yet again to go back in time to save them, but as Zelda they all of them died in a way or another he couldn't save any of them.
After this he when into a very deep depression and tried to end his life, but since he was so powerful nothing could hurt him not even jumping into a black hole or a supernova exploding in his face, not even his own attacks, he tried to go into the infinite void, but couldn't find anything. (The Void God isn't there anymore so far in the future)
So he saw only one way to end it all, by using his ability to travel in back in time, his idea was to go back to the origins of his universe just before the Big Bang explosion and wait, the explosion would eventually occur and kill him, but he couldn't find the exact right moment it happen, he realize that using his time travel ability so much made him very weak and thought if he uses it beyond it's limits he would die from it.
So he over charged his ability to a extreme level and jump in the past as time was going backward at a extreme speed, he saw his universe disappear as he ended up in the void, he saw other far away universe disappear until suddenly he's back into a universe, but it was pitch black.
He sees a huge explosion and planets reappear it was at this moment a huge flash of light appear and he was forced out of his time travel ability by it as he was push back and immediately lost consciousness, as he woke up he couldn't remember anything as he lost his memories and was at death's door he wasn't sad or depress anymore, but he was lost..
100 000 000 000 years in the past.
He ended up crashing on a planet in Universe 13 present the alternative pokemon tournament universe 10 months before the pokemon tournament started where he was saved by Zelda, she thought he was Link Nukem, but later realize he wasn't she hidden that event from everybody else and nurse him back to health in secret.
During those 10 months she had to literally learn him how to talk and walk, he regain a part of his power and Zelda quickly realize this Link was as strong if not stronger than Link Nukem himself and he had a strange aura around him as if time passed slower when she was with him, her watch would always end up messed up.
She could stay a full day with him and the sun would barely move in the sky, she eventually became quite attach to him and even developed affection for him and Link didn't know why, but he felt a strong emotion torward Zelda as if he already knew her for a very long time he eventually was giving her back this affection in a way or another something Link Nukem never did.
Zelda always was in love with Link Nukem, but he never gave her back this love she always hoped for and little by little the two secretly became lovers.
One day the Pokemon Tournament started and Zelda left to participate as Link would stay behind trying to rememer who he truly is he stayed alone for few days until he saw a enormous light in the sky as the earth started to shake and suddenly the light disappear.
He tried to go in space and find the source of this light, but couldn't find anything few hours later he when back to the planet and as he was searching for Zelda he sensed a extremely powerful dark evil aura appears as few explosion happen in the far distance.
He when to the location of these explosions only to find somekind of stadium in ruin engluf in flame he suddenly sensed Zelda energy becoming weaker and weaker as he rushed torward the source as he see her holded by a man with a dark aura as this man turn around he realize it was him or rather someone that look very similar to him with bright red eyes.
The Dark Warrior then says: "Oh look your dog is here!" "......." "You cannot hide your emotions from me, you choosed this failed copy of me over me?" "You thought I didn't know about him?! You betrayed me!" Dark Link Nukem start to choke Zelda as Link power up and jump in trying to save her but he is strike down by the powerful dark being, he then hear Zelda say to the man "Not him, please Link Nukem spare him, please stop! Why are you doing this?! Let me go!"
Link then heard a terrifying voice as the Dark being replies: "Anybody who betray me deserve death!" As he break Zelda neck and then blast her to nothing, Link burst in anger as he transform into another form and charge Dark Link Nukem as his attack colide the whole planet and galaxy is wipe out by a huge shock wave as both warrior start a fight, but after a short fight Link quickly realize the dark warrior is way too powerful as he is beat down half death and blast by a huge beam attack, but barely survive it.
As the dark warrior was about to finish him, Link insticly travel back in time to few hours before the stadium was destroy, by doing this he somehow got his memories back, who he truly is and where he come from and why he's here.
He was shock and knew this exact copy of his wife would be killed soon, but he knew what happen the last time he tried to save someone, until he realize he never when into the future this time the timeline wasn't save, he could change her fate this time.
So he when back to the stadium and asked Zelda to follow him and hidden with her as the stadium was destroy he sensed the Dark Warrior disappear in space as soon as he destroyed the stadium and charged a giant beam and fire at the planet.
Link barely had time to grab Zelda and teleport using one of his other ability at the sametime he teleported he was hit by the explosion which had a strange effect both Zelda and Link ended up unharmed in the same exact location, but Dark Link Nukem was gone and the whole Stadium wasn't there either.
The whole region was different in the place of a large green plain with a big stadium, there was tree everywhere, Link was confuse as he didn't uses his time travel ability and not only Dark Link Nukem wasn't anywhere to be found, but he also sense something strange the energy coming from the whole universe was different, he took Zelda in his arm and fly around the planet exploring it and he quickly realize something.
A new life in the strange universe.
Link came to only one conclusion, this wasn't the same universe, maybe the explosion made him teleport into another universe in the same location. (Indeed he was right not only he travel in another universe called universe 18, but he also teleported over 300 years in the past.)
After Link explained to Zelda everything that happen with Dark Link Nukem and who he truly is, where he come from and the facts that they are now stuck in this universe, Zelda was shock as she realize she would never see her father, her friends or Link Nukem ever again.
At the sametime she was happy at least she's was still with Link, a few days later after exploring the world both of them found a good place to build a house and start a farm it was the perfect place to start a new life, weeks pass by and both of them never was as happy as they were and it continue this way as 13 years pass by, they never had children since Link was immortal and immortals beings cannot conceive childrens with mortals.
It never bother Zelda as she was happy as long as Link was with her, their presence influenced the region as more people came to live in the region at first it was deserted green plain with a forest and now a huge town full of life was build a few kilometers away from their farm.
The Endless cycle of pains
2 more peaceful years passed by as Zelda suddenly feel ill, they learn from the best doctor Link could find on the planet than she had a incurable disease, she was living her last minutes on her death bed, Link was present has he had to say good bye to her, it was the hardest thing he ever had to do in his life it was even harder than when he had to kill his first wife back in his timeline to spare her from a painful death.
Few days pass by as he was all alone in his house until one days he couldn't take it anymore and traveled back in time to right after their started to build the farm, he relive another life with Zelda until another 15 years passed by as he was back to her final moments on her death bed.
Link was depressed to have to say good bye once again to the love of his life, this when on for 8 other times and each times Link felt as if his soul was rip apart by the pain to have to say good bye to her every times it was the 10 times he when back in time, but this time it was different Zelda seem to be fighting the illness more that ever as the other Zelda would die at the end of the 15th years this time she lasted until the end of the 17th years.
He truly thought she would be able to survive this time as he got his hope up more that ever but eventually she was yet again living her last moment she had maybe few days left to live, he would normally wait until she died to go back in time, but this time the pain was so intense that he couldn't stand to see her die again, as he was about to travel back in time yet again he was stop by Zelda.
Zelda for the first time told him she knew what he was about to do, that she knew it wasn't the first time she had this life with him, she realize this when she saw Link becoming more and more depressed over the 15th year as if he knew she was going to fall ill and die, she did everything she could to fight off this illness and see a smile on Link face she truly wanted to stay with him for a bit longer but the illness was too strong.
She tells Link she doesn't know how many times he when back in time and she cannot imagine all the pain he when thought, she refuse to let him go thought this endless cycle of pains as for her last wish she make him promise he wouldn't go back in time anymore and would move on with his life and find happiness somewhere else that if he search hard enough he would eventually find peace and happiness.
Link was devastated as he knew she was right, it was the only way to end it, he promise he wouldn't do it ever again and would find happiness no matter how long it would take him, few days later Zelda died in her sleep.
Finding happiness
After Zelda death Link when on a long journey around the world that lasted for 10 years as he was trying to find a new purpose in his life, but he couldn't never remove this sadness, until one day he saved the life of a young girl that looked similar to Zelda and as she thanks him with a warm smile he felt for the first time in 10 years the sadness disappear and be renplace by joy, he know from this time what he needed to do.
From this day he found his new purpose something that could make him happy, he became a hero who would travel in the world to save people life from evil beings or criminals as he became a legend amount the people.
He continue to fight the forces of evil for over 300 years as one day he saw a young man fall from a castle wall as he rushed in and saved the life the young man, the young man was acting in a strange way but what shocked Link is this young man was a split image of himself as he heard a woman voice he hide as he felt his heart almost explode when he saw Zelda coming out of the castle calling Link name.
He was about to come out of hidding when he realize she was calling to the young man as she bring him back in the castle, during the next few days he learn that the girl name was Zelda and she was the princess of hyrule, her father was The King of Hyrule the same exact thing from his timeline and the young man was Link, it was him or rather another version of him from this universe, there was also all the friends he once knew back in his original timeline such as Mario, Gay Luigi, Morshu, Bowser, Ganon and etc, but they all were different Bowser was crazy and Mario and Gay Luigi had a extremely evil presence inside them, he couldn't tell what it was.
He continues to watch over them for a month and quickly realize these other version of him and Zelda was quite a lot different, this Link was obviously mentally ill and Zelda was obviously trying to take care of him, this remembered him of his life with Zelda as for the first time in 300 years he felt this emptiness feeling of sadness, it almost made him want to travel back in time to talk with Zelda once more, but he knew it would only be for a short while and she would eventually die.
Link The Hero of Time & Space Final Journey
This is when he was strike with a idea, something he never thought of before what if there was a cure for her illness in a far distant future? There was a lot of incurable illness back then than are now curable, he continue to think about it for few days until he couldn't take it anymore...
He knew it was broking his promise, but if there was a way to save her he wouldn't need to suffer anymore he could finally life a full life with her, he travel back in time once more and when back to the moment right after Zelda made him promise to never go back in time and says to her: "Don't worry, I'll save you and you won't have to die this time."
Before she could reply he travel 1000 years in the future, but as arrive in the future he is shock to see the planet is completely destroy in ruin as if something completely obliterated everything, not only this but he could barely sense any life form in the universe as if the whole universe was almost dead.
He teleported to the closest people he could sense and appear on a planet with spaceship flying in the sky and technologic device everywhere, he is greet by strange people as they ask him where he come from and why he's here, he explain to them without telling them he come from the past, saying a friend of his is sick and discribe Zelda illness, the strange people reply to him she shouldn't be sick to begin with since the cure to this illness is very easy to find and even at a very advanced stage it could cure the person in a instant, Link is overcome with joy as he ask them where he can find it, they point him the direction and says good luck.
Link find a shop than sell many kind of medicines as he take the right one and put it in his pocket and as he was about to go back in time he heard people screaming outside as they says "The Devourer of world is here is found us!" as a man come crashing on the street just outside the shop.
Link comes out only to see a man in the middle of the street a man that looks like Mario, but he almost have the same evil presence it felt while looking at Mario and Gay Luigi, but it was different it wasn't as evil and he could feel many different energy coming from this man, Link try to call Mario name as the man turn around and replies: "Mario? It's the first time in 700 years someone call me like that I'm no longer Mario, I'm Super Fire Flower Malleo but are you not afraid of me?" "Wait a second, are you Link?! No you are different"
Malleo look at Link for a moment with a smirk and says: "You are extremely strong are you?" Link replies: "You know what happen to this universe, why I can barely sense anybody all I could find were these people."
Malleo replies: "Oh don't worry they are all here" Link replies: "Here, where?" Malleo continues: "Here inside me, you look extremely tasty come join them!"
Before Link could do anything Malleo suddenly powered up, Link felt the energy of thousand of trillions if not more of different people all at once it was so intense he was stun for a short time enough for Malleo to attack him and land a solid punch sending Link flying far away in space.
Link quickly recover as he powered up into his Hero of Time form and both beings started a titanic battle each of their punches would create shock wave wiping out any lifeless galaxy nearby after a long battle, Link got the upper hand and was able to vaporize Malleo with a giant beam attacks.
Malleo quickly regen his body from what seem to be thin air, but the attack obviously effected him as Malleo lost a lot fo energy to regen from this attack as Link charge another beam even more powerful than the last one to finish him.
Malleo look at Link with fear which slowly turn into fustration and then regret as he says: "You are so strong, It's such a shame I won't have the joy to make you part of me, but I cannot die here not now!" Link unleash his attacks when Malleo scream: "Super Ultimate Planetary Fire Flower!!!"
As he unleash a super huge fire flower the size of a planet that easily goes throught Link beam attack at extreme speed, so fast that Link doesn't have time to react as he is hit directly by the giant attacks he feel his body been torn apart, he scream as he is literally vaporized by it leaving nothing begin.
The Afterlife?
Link suddenly appear in a strange place, everything is white and grey even his body is colorless, he is immediately greet by a woman surrouded by a bright white light that look exactly like him she could be his sibling, Link ask her where he is and what happen the woman explain to him that he died in battle against what she call the the most dangerous Malleo in the multiverse and he was lucky to die since those who are defeated by him normally have a far worst fate.
Link is shock hearing this as he immediately try to go back in time, but nothing happen he then try to teleport away, but again nothing happen, the woman tell him it's useless as she won't allow him change his fate as he already had his chance, she already saved his life once when she saw him appear out of no where going back in time extremely fast, she stopped him from killing himself and made sure he would survive the fall on a planet where she left him.
This place was now his new home and he have no choice, but to accept it, Link replies panicked he needed to go back that he found the cure, he could finally save her and begs the woman to let him go as he search into his pocket and is surprise to see the medicine is still there even thought he died.
The Woman look at Link intrigued as she put her hand on his head and suddenly walk back a bit as she was obviously affected and saddened by something, she look at Link and says: "You have gone through a lot of hardship only to end here so close to your goal"
She open a portal from thin air and as Link look into the portal he sees Zelda in her bed very sick calling for him, the woman tells Link she will allow him to go, but one day Zelda would still eventually die and when that day happen, he would be force to come back and stay in this realm forever, Link ask the woman her name.
She replies: "Goddess of Life" Link thanks her from the bottom of his heart as he immediately jump into the portal and appears in from of Zelda and gives her the medicine, in a instant all her pain disappear and she open her eyes and see Link looking at her with a river of tears of joy coming out of his eyes saying he found a cure and she would be alright from now on.
For the next 80 years they lived a peaceful happy life, eventually Zelda grew old as Link stayed young until one days, she was on her death bed living her last moments, Link was present as he knew this time it was final farewell, Zelda thanks him for this amazing life he gave her and regretted she couldn't stay with him forever, it was hard but he was able to say good bye and promise her he would find happiness and she didn't need to worry about him as she dies with a smile on her face.
The Legendary Heroes of Light realm
As promise as soon as Zelda died and he gave her a proper funeral a portal open behind Link as his body turned colorless, he slowly walk into the bright portal and appears once again before The Goddess of Life she says: "Welcome home" Link look at her and thanks her for allowing him to live the life he always wish for and first ask what is this place?
The Goddess of Life explain this is what she call Universe 11 this is the universe where all the most powerful and worthy warrior who fought against the forces of evil goes after they die in battle, this is the Heroes of Light realm.
Link says: "This is afterlife, so it's truly the end for me" The Goddess replies: "The end? No, this is only just the beginning, life was not a mere fractions this is where your real life begins"
Link then hear a familliar voice behind him saying: "How come he get to be greet by The Goddess not once but twice!? Why I was greet by this ugly WeeGee guy when I first came here this is so unfair!"
Link turns around and see a woman that look exactly like Zelda he runs to her and look at her confuse she look at him and says: "What's your problem new guy? I got something on my face?" Link replies: "Zelda! You are here too?!"
The woman take a step back and replies: "My name is Legende if you are looking for Zelda they are over there!" Link turns around and is shock to see not one not two, but eight Zeldas! He also see someone very similar to the Malleo that killed him with a strange looking Luigi, even one Ganon, Morshu, and multiple different looking Link one of them wearing black glasses.
He scratch his head in confusion when The Goddess of Life explain to him all of them are worthy heroes of light who died in battle just like him, they come from many different universes and timeline and that all of them are good people even the Malleo as she point him and WeeGee as she point the strange looking Luigi.
She says: "In most universe and timeline they are evil beings, but these two were worthy to be here just like everybody else here make sure you become good friends since you will be here for a very long time."
Link look at the woman who call herself Legende as she cringe saying she doesn't have respect for weakling, but is cut mid-sentence by the Link with black glasses called Nukem saying: "I hope you realize he's only in his base form right now and he's already almost as strong as you." Legende look at Nukem with a surprise look on her face and replies: "Yeah... So what?!"
The Goddess of Life says she must be going, but before she go she must tell him one last thing that times goes way slower in this realm, he has been here for few minutes, but it only has been merely few microseconds for the living realm.
She stop as Link wasn't even listening to her and he's looking at Legende as if he was hypnotized, she look at Legende and back at Link and smile saying: "Good luck with that" and disappears in a flash of light.
From this point Link start his new life in this strange colorless universe as over few hundred million years passes for him, but merely 10 years in the living realm, this is where his story ends for now.
The short universe 4 events
One day at some point during all those years he was suppose to help Ultimate WeeGee and Ultimate Malleo to fix a Sink the size of a Galaxy this Sink provided water to many sector of the universe, but he didn't feel like helping this day and he very bored and decided to play a prank on a living being to have some fun even if it was forbidden to do this.
He invited a possible future worthy heroes of light called The King from universe 4 in his realm, the two of them passed a very short time together as they danced to a song for a bit together until the party pooper Ultimate WeeGee and Ultimate Malleo appears wondering why Link didn't come to help them.
Both of them started running after them as they were cornered, The King was rejected from the realm back to his universe and Link was forced to help WeeGee for a whole month without pause as punishment.
